I am a seasoned naval officer who fully transitioned to an IT career path in 2014. I continue to work within the Ministry of Defence, combining my operational experience in problem solving and leadership with expertise in IT management. Steering IT initiatives and tactically deploying a naval vessel share many practical similarities. For me, the objective — the desired outcome — is always the central focus, and when necessary, the team moves forward in a pioneering spirit. From 2017 to 2022, I served as COO at the internal IT infrastructure provider. Since late 2022, I have been working as a program manager, guiding the transformation within the Royal Netherlands Navy required for the introduction of the Future Headquarters. A key component of this transformation is a high-quality digital environment, which unlocks new possibilities — provided it is accompanied by a new way of working.
